Nature of business [English]
Moparmatic was started in 1956 by John Moses, my father. With a guarantee of work from his father-in-law, he designed and made a machine in the garage to produce the stems of chaplets. This machine, unchanged, is still running now making rivets. Since then we have made and designed 8 machines with one being made now. All chaplets are made on home made machines.
We make double headed solid and fabricated washered chaplets. Wire / shank Sizes range from 16g/1.6mm to 3/16/5mm and washer / head sizes 1/4 / 6mm to 3/4/19mm. We also make pin chaplets with upto a 3/4 extension. We have rivet making machines, home made split die and solid die Waterburys. Rivets can be made from about 1/2 mm to 6mm diameter, pins up to 4 long.
All tooling, including hardening and tempering, are made on site, so giving us great flexibility. As many of the machines were made here, this puts us in a unique position for maintenance and repairs. Typically, minimum runs are 10,000 parts. In general, chaplets are made from mild steel, but we can do aluminium. Rivets can also be made from non-ferrous materials.
